Canaan Town Board Special Meeting – January 4th, 2008

Supervisor Richard Keaveney opened the meeting at 10:00 a.m. with a statement of the purpose of the Special meeting: appointment of clerks and approval of salaries for the fiscal year 2008 and an executive session with Attorney Jason Shaw to update board on the assessment litigation. There were four board members present: Supervisor Richard Keaveney, Councilperson Brenda Adams, Councilperson Peter Stelling, and Councilperson David Patzwahl. Councilperson Carrie Bither was absent. There were no people in the audience.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESOLUTIONS:
RESOLUTION #1-6 SALARIES for the fiscal year 2008 and BENEFITS
Supervisor Richard Keaveney made a motion, seconded by Councilperson Peter Stelling to adopt the presented resolutions. 4-ayes, Motion carried. Roll call showed: Supervisor Richard Keaveney-yes; Councilperson Brenda Adams-yes; Councilperson Peter Stelling yes; and Councilperson David Patzwahl-yes. Resolutions No. 1 thru 6 are adopted.

EXECUTIVE SESSION: Supervisor Keaveney asked to move into executive session. Councilperson David Patzwahl made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Richard Keaveney, to move into executive session to discuss the assessment litigation with County Attorney Jason Shaw at 10:30 a.m. 4-ayes, Motion carried. Roll call showed: Supervisor Richard Keaveney-yes; Councilperson Brenda Adams-yes; Councilperson Peter Stelling yes; and Councilperson David Patzwahl-yes. Motion approved.

MOTION: Supervisor Richard Keaveney made a motion, seconded by Councilperson Brenda Adams, to return to the “Special Meeting”. 4-ayes, Motion carried. Roll call showed: Supervisor Richard Keaveney-yes; Councilperson Brenda Adams-yes; Councilperson Peter Stelling yes; and Councilperson David Patzwahl-yes. Motion approved.

Supervisor Reichard Keaveney said that there were no motions, nor decisions made in executive session.

ADJOURN: Councilperson Peter Stelling made a motion, seconded by Councilperson Brenda Adams to adjourn the meeting at 11:21a.m. 4-ayes, Motion Carried.
