SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING – AUDIT OF TOWN BOOKS
JANUARY 28TH, 2008
Supervisor Richard Keaveney opened the meeting at 7:08 p.m. and read the Public Notice: Please take notice that the Canaan Town Board will hold a Special meeting at the Canaan Town Hall to audit the Town books.
There were five Board members present:
Supervisor Richard Keaveney
Councilperson David Patzwahl
Councilperson Brenda Adams
Councilperson Peter Stelling arrived at 7:25 p.m.
Councilperson Carrie Bither
There were four people in the audience.

Supervisor Richard Keaveney asked that each department be reviewed at random months.
Councilperson David Patzwahl and Councilperson Carrie Bither audited the Town Justices books.
Councilperson Brenda Adams and Councilperson Peter Stelling audited the Tax Collector books. Ms. Barbara Fischer, former tax collector, assisted with the tax collector books.
Supervisor Richard Keaveney audited the Town Clerk books.
All books were reviewed and found to be in order with no discrepancies.

MOTION: Councilperson Brenda Adams made a motion, seconded by Councilperson Peter Stelling, to enter into executive session at 7:38 p.m., to discuss the assessment litigation. 5-ayes, Motion Carried. Roll call showed: Supervisor Richard Keaveney-yes; Councilperson Peter Stelling-yes; Councilperson Brenda Adams-yes; Councilperson Carrie Bither-yes; and Councilperson David Patzwahl-yes. Motion approved.

MOTION: Councilperson David Patzwahl made a motion, seconded by Councilperson Carrie Bither, to return to the special meeting. 5-ayes, Motion Carried. Roll call showed: Supervisor Richard Keaveney-yes; Councilperson Peter Stelling-yes; Councilperson Brenda Adams-yes; Councilperson Carrie Bither-yes; and Councilperson David Patzwahl-yes. Motion approved.

Supervisor Richard Keaveney said that there were no motions made in executive session.

ADJOURNMENT: Councilperson Brenda Adams made a motion, seconded by Councilperson Peter Stelling, to adjourn the meeting at 8:14 p.m. 5-ayes, Motion Carried. Roll call showed: Supervisor Richard Keaveney-yes; Councilperson Peter Stelling-yes; Councilperson Brenda Adams-yes; Councilperson Carrie Bither-yes; and Councilperson David Patzwahl-yes. Motion approved.
