SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING – APRIL 3, 2008

Supervisor Richard Keaveney opened the meeting at 6:32 p.m. by reading the Public Notice:
Please take notice that the Canaan Town Board will hold a special meeting on April 3, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. to hold a Public Hearing on the proposed Local Law #1 of the year 2008 at the Canaan Town Hall. The Local Law #1 of the year 2008 addresses repealing Local Law No. 1 of 1996, which modified the hearing date of the Board of Assessment Review of the Town of Canaan. The proposed law is on file at the Town Clerk office for review during normal business hours.

There were four board members present:
Supervisor Richard Keaveney
Councilperson Brenda Adams
Councilperson Carrie Bither
Councilperson David Patzwahl
Councilperson Peter Stelling was absent.

There were three people in the audience.

Supervisor Keaveney asked if there were any questions from the audience.
There were no questions.

Supervisor Keaveney read the sections of the proposed Local Law and gave a brief history of the previous Local Law and Local Law No.1 of 2008 stating that the Board of Assessment Review shall meet upon the date(s) required by the applicable provisions of section 512 of the New York State Real Property Tax law.

Adjournment:
Councilperson David Patzwahl made a motion, seconded by Councilperson Carrie Bither, to adjourn the meeting at 6:50 p.m. 4 ayes, Motion carried. Roll call showed: ADOPTED: Ayes: 4 Keaveney; Adams; Carrie Bither; Patzwahl
